Agricultural Grades around Tewkesbury Road
The land along the Tewkesbury Road earmarked for develpment by the RSS is ‘very good’ or ‘good’ agricultural land as the attached map clearly shows. Even the pasture which makes up most of the proposed development area is classed as ‘moderate’. At a time when news stories like this continue to argue imminent food shortages, why are we planning to build over these precious food sources?

Very true. In the very near future high oil price rises will meaning imports become much more expensive. We will have to grow very much more of our own food. It is madness to build over our precious agricultural land. We have the manage it very carefully. The economics of land value need to change (how I don’t know) and agricultural land needs to be much more highly valued and protected.
